2008 OBX CruZ for the cure of Parkinson's Disease

Planning is almost complete for the weekend of April 25, 26, & 27. Our host hotel is the Comfort suites in New Bern, NC tel 252 636 0022. They are holding special rooms and rates just for us. The fun begins on Friday at 5pm with a meet and greet on the banks of the Neuse River. A NC style DownEast pig picking will follow at 7pm. A silent auction to raise $ for the Parkinson's Disease Research Foundation at Duke University will be conducted. kingsbbq.com/scrapBook.
Sat morning will come fast. We will tour the Fountain Power Boat factory (like BMWs on the water). Boats rides will be available possible w/ Reggie at the wheel fountainpowerboats.com.

Lunch will be at the River Dunes Club, near Oriental, NC (the sailing capital of NC). riverdunes.com After lunch there will be time for the ladies to shop in the village of Oriental. Dinner will be in New Bern - TBA. Mixer at hotel after dinner.

Sunday will come real fast. And it will find us visiting the NC Aquarium in Pine Knolls Shores, our third and final aquarium. ncaquariums.com But this is the biggest, newest and best one.
Lunch will be at the world famous Sanitary Seafood Market & Restaurant sanitaryfishmarket.com. After lunch it will be home bound till next year 2009.

There is a $20 per person registration fee to cover the pig on Friday and lunch on Sat. All proceeds will go to Parkinson research at Duke University. 2008 events. This year our
2nd Annual Spring Drive will be May 30- June 1,

Beaufort SC Shrimp Festival

Beaufort Shrimp Festival

Beaufort's Shrimp Festival is a favorite event that celebrates Lowcountry cuisine and incorporates fun activities for all ages. Local restaurants offer samples of Lowcountry dishes featuring shrimp. Prizes are awarded for "best recipe" and "most creative recipe" honors. Highlights of the event

include: Friday evening concert in the park featuring live entertainment and yummy shrimp with lighted shrimp boats providing the backdrop for the event. Saturday's festivities begin with a 5k Run over Woods Memorial Bridge, and a 5k "Walk through History" in the historic Old Point neighborhood in Beaufort. Restaurants prepare delicious shrimp specialties to the delight of the large crowds that attend the event each year.

Saturday's events also include a servers' race, arts & crafts, live entertainment, a special race for kids (the "Popcorn Shrimp Race"), food and drinks. In a nutshell: Enjoy Lowcountry traditions and cuisine and dance under the stars.

9th Annual Ken's Fall Colors Drive - Please join us for our 9th Annual Fall Colors Drive in Maggie Valley, NC. This event has turned out to be one of the largest outside Homecoming and we don't want you to miss it. Reservation can be made by calling the Maggie Valley Creekside Lodge at 800-621-1260. Reservations are filling up quickly and there are a limited number of creek view rooms.
